I have built homes since 1973. Since the days that I did estimating on an IBM Series 1, I have searched for ways to connect the data to the drawings. Everything can be defined in a matrix or database. When I was drawing in AutoCAD 2000, 2002, I was able to start linking drawing elements to files through blocks and extraction tables. I am now using ADT 2005 & Archicad 9 to hook all the drawing objects to a database. The day is here and the development of the BIM will be an amazing process to watch.
