The Brass Doors and the quatrefoil windows took one year to make.  The straight parts were made by Revere Copper in Rhome, New York.  Revere Copper made the tools and dies to extrude the solid brass parts.  Their tolerance was 0.001 of an inch.  The straight parts were sent to a master clock maker (John McArthur) in Taos, New Mexico.  Johnny assembled the brass doors just as a wooden door with mortise and tenon joints.  The round parts were cut from 8" thick slabs of brass at a machine shop in California.  Johnny hand made all of the screw, bolts, cremone hardware --- everything. The brass was given a slight antique patina then waxed. - Magnificent
